Hello! As a newborn photographer I am just as disappointed as you are about not being able to have. newborn session! While I am unable to photograph your new addition because of this situation with the Covid 19 virus, I wanted to pass along these tips on how you can still capture this fleeting moment- at home -with whatever camera you own! ( yes… even your phone!) I look forward to photographing your family soon! GET READY! SAFETY FIRST! Always have another adult present to be close to baby while talking photos with siblings or pets! If they loose patience, try again at another time and be patient. You never know how siblings or pets can react, even if it is just to play Never leave a newborn or baby unattended or never use a prop that could be potentially dangerous like a glass bowl or a basket with sharp twigs. Please do not attempt any poses that you see newborn photographers do. Professional newborn photographers have been trained for posing safely. It is best to capture baby in a gentle and natural pose. When using a camera, please use camera strap at all times! Listen to baby’s cues. Your little one may try to tell you they have had enough. Pace yourself, you just had a baby and will need rest! You can break it up over a few days, and that’s OK! Your photos are not going to look the same as professional photos and that is ok! …
Baby session with this gorgeous 9 week old, I got some darling expressions of his beautiful face and blue eyes before he fell asleep. I love a day spent in my beautiful studio getting my props ready and spending some time with a baby, having 4 daughters myself, I miss those days and it brings me so much joy to spend time photographing these precious babies. I love photographing babies around 2 month of age in a baby session with just white baby props for a simple and organic feel. The focus is on the baby’s face, his features and little pieces such as hands, feet, mouth.
What a beautiful morning for this maternity session at the beach! Beautiful expecting mom at the beach on a very warm morning at sunrise, we got lucky again with beautiful clouds which is my favorite and those peach colors in the sky which was so beautiful with her blue dress! Danielle was at a great stage of pregnancy at about 30 weeks, my favorite stage is around that mark when mom is still comfortable and it is a very photogenic time for mom’s bump:) What a beauty and I love that her long curly hair was left natural! This couple was so sweet and their love was apparent.
More images of baby Lincoln during his newborn session in my studio, I have been using studio lighting in the last few months and love the results! I love the consistent and soft lighting I get each time.
first baby photography session
This gorgeous baby girl came to me at 6 weeks and even though it is a bit late for newborn posing, I managed to photograph her in the tushie up pose and got lots of other cute awake shots! She and her brother are the most gorgeous children and I just love how different they look! One has a beautiful mocha skin and brown eyes, the other gorgeous blue eyes and milky skin! How fun! Of course when you see mama you understand how they get their beauty!! What a beautiful mom! Both parents are just so gorgeous and I really have enjoyed photographing them these last few years…including their maternity sessions and their baby boy session! I should one day write a post with their photos over the years. My newborn sessions are always baby led and each one is unique. I go with the flow and what baby likes and make sure baby is comfortable , some babies might not like some poses. Some babies are more awake, especially as they get older and we get those cute bright eyed shots! That is probably my favorite aspect of newborn photography, no baby is alike and each session is so magical and different, I never know what I will create at the end and babies always surprise me, they already have their personality. It is such a gift to photograph them and they continue to marvel me session after session. After photographing baby on the bean bag, I always …
